Goo @ Pickle Factory *

These shots were taken in December 2024 at Goo, a club night put on by Richard Fearless @deathinvegasmusic and @danielmarkavery at @picklefactorye2. They describe it as “Trippy records, small room, big sound, endless love” and that is a great lil description of the proceedings. Being there really took me back to clubbing in my early 20s. (i will not elaborate how long ago that was exactly but let’s just say it’s been a minute) when you were taken on a journey, a slow build, undulating waves of techno pleasure, rolling in, rolling out, gradually increasing in intensity and bpm as the night progresses..well day to night in fact as it starts at 4pm and goes till 10pm..which is very civilised and means you can get still back home at a reasonable hour and go to work the next day not feeling like death only marginally warmed up.

There seems to be a growing trend these days of daytimey clubs as people still wanna go out dancing but don’t necessarily want to destroy the following day in the process. And more than any stimulant side dish people are here for the main course of transcendent tunes. Surrendering your mind and body to the music.

The punters at Goo are definitely a music first crowd. They are there for the tunes and seriously digging what the djs had clearly dug deep to find. R.F and D.A do 3 tracks on 3 tracks off back to back all night. Each with their own style yet somehow flips of the same coin. D.A tends to cranks it up whilst R.F tends to drop it down but both equally and utterly danceable. It is this combination which works so well as they play off each other and the crowd, pulling them in whichever direction they see fit in the moment. There are no pre-prepared sets here, just spontaneous reactive djing at it’s best.
